Do you ever watch Inside the Tower of London on C5? It’s a fascinating insight as to what goes on behind the scenes to keep one of the Historic Royal Palaces such a fascinating place to visit.
In the current series 8 and episode 4, you can see the part the Worshipful Company of Coopers played in the restoration of a decorated barrel and if you haven't been to watch or take part, you will also see excerpts from the Company's Annual Cask Race.

The barrel resides in The Keys within the walls of The Tower and had become somewhat careworn. Firstly the barrel was repaired by Liveryman and Cooper Euan Findlay, before being carefully repainted and varnished by Steph Newington then returned to its rightful place within The Keys.
See the very competitive and fun Coopers’ Company Cask Race in Guildhall Square 2025 and then the formality of the return of the Yeoman Warders’ barrel.
We are proud to have Yeoman Warder Scott Kelly and Chief Yeoman Warder Paul Langley as Beadles to the Worshipful Company of Coopers.
The Cask Race returns to Guildhall Square on Saturday 4th July 2026 and more details can be found here https://caskrace.com/
