Congratulations to Coopers' Company & Coborn School

Congratulations from the Coopers' Company to CC&CS who have been named the Number 1 State School for Sport in the England 2025. This is the second consecutive year they have received this accolade.

In addition to being ranked number 1 amongst state schools, the School was also placed 10th overall of all state and independent schools combined. This is the first time they have been placed the national top 10.

From travelling to many of the top independent schools throughout the country on their sporting travels the resources those schools have in terms of money, facilities and staff is, at times, jaw dropping - some of the tops schools are world renowned. For CC&CS students' successes to be amongst, and in many cases above these schools, is amazing.

The national rankings are calculated each year based on the number of National Final qualifications, and how the teams then did in these National Finals.

The national final successes are just the tip of the iceberg of what the students achieve. Last year 800 students took part in over 800 fixtures resulting in 10,000 student representations in 19 different sports at borough, county, regional and national level - meaning any student wishing to be involved is able to commit to something they are passionate about, feel part of a community, and gain some sense of success.

This is also thanks to all staff throughout the school for their support of students within the sports programme to enable them to reach their potential and to staff that help by coaching and managing students to support the PE department and the students.
